§ 9-20. Cemetery interment; permit, times and fees.

(a)

The cemetery sexton must receive a burial service order prior to the interment. The burial service order shall request and keep record of the following information: Name and address of grave space owner; legal description of grave space in which interment is to be made; name and death date of person to be interred; name of mortician in charge of remains; type of interment; date of the interment; and other such information as may be required by the city.

(b)

Unless otherwise required by state law, an internment may only be held within the city cemeteries between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, and between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays. Unless otherwise required by state law with a court order, an interment may not be held on Sundays or on holidays observed by the city.

(c)

The following interment fee shall be paid to the city prior to the date of interment for interments held on Mondays through Fridays:

(1)

Adult interment (13 years and older): $550.00.

(2)

Youth interment (18 months—12 years): $300.00.

(3)

Infant interment (under 18 months): $200.00.

(4)

Inurnment of ashes: $350.00.

(d)

The following interment fee shall be paid to the city prior to the date of interment for interments held on Saturdays:

(1)

Adult interment (13 years and older): $950.00.

(2)

Youth interment (18 months—12 years): $700.00.

(3)

Infant interment (under 18 months): $600.00.

(4)

Inurnment of ashes: $750.00.

(e)

In addition to the charges set forth in subsections (b) and (c), if a court order requires interment to be held outside the times set forth in subsection (a), an additional charge of $450.00 shall be paid to the city prior to the date of interment.
