§ 9-4. Sexton.

  • The cemetery sexton shall manage, operate and maintain the city's cemeteries subject to any limitations and restrictions set forth in this chapter or contained in any applicable law. The cemetery sexton, or designee, shall oversee and direct all interments. The cemetery sexton shall adopt administrative cemetery rules and regulations that comply with this chapter and applicable law, and address, at a minimum, the following:

    (a)

    Subdivision and location of cemetery grave space(s);

    (b)

    Capacity of each grave space(s) or columbarium;

    (c)

    Interment and inurnment methods and procedures;

    (d)

    Location, installation and type of planting, monuments and markers permitted within the cemeteries;

    (e)

    Purchasing and transfer of grave space(s);

    (f)

    Collection of fees and charges, in amounts set forth in this chapter;

    (g)

    Records of ownership.
