§ 8-272. Sign contractor's license required; fee; term.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business or trade of constructing, rebuilding, erecting, remodeling, relocating, expanding, altering or painting signs in the city without first obtaining a license therefore, as provided in this article.

    (b)

    No license shall be issued until a complete application has been filed with and approved by the building official. Such application shall be on a form provided by the building official and shall contain all the information requested by the building official. An application is not complete until the applicant has paid the required annual license fee to the city.

    (c)

    This article shall not apply to officials or employees of the federal, state, county or city governments engaged in the performance of their official duties.

    (d)

    The annual license fee for a sign contractor's license shall be $100.00.

    (e)

    All such licenses shall expire on December 31 of the year issued.
