§ 4-16. Restrictions on location.

  • (a)

    No person shall sell at retail any alcoholic liquor in its original unopened containers within 200 feet of any public or parochial school.

    (b)

    No person shall sell at retail any alcoholic liquor in its original unopened containers within 200 feet of any college.

    (c)

    No person shall sell at retail any alcoholic liquor in its original unopened containers within 200 feet of a church.

    (d)

    No alcoholic liquor shall be sold at retail upon any premises which have an inside entrance or opening which connects with any other place of business.

    (e)

    The restrictions of subsections 4-16(a)—(c) shall not apply if the school, college, or church is established within 200 feet of the licensed premises after the premises have already been licensed.

    (f)

    The distances set forth in this section shall be measured from the property line of the school, college, or church to the nearest entrance or exit of the establishment selling alcoholic liquor, which is available to, and normally used by, the public, by the shortest route which a pedestrian would normally walk.
