§ 32-48. Initiating water service.

  • (a)

    Prior to initiating water service to any property, the person responsible for payment of all charges shall complete the application for water service and all necessary forms provided by the city.

    (b)

    The applicant shall pay a charge of $15.00 to initiate water service between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on regular working days, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The applicant shall pay a charge of $35.00 to initiate water service at any other time. The appropriate charge shall apply to each property to which the city initiates water service, regardless of whether a new or current customer requests the initiation of water service. The charge shall cover the clerical expenses and the cost of turning on the water, and the charge is not a deposit.

    (c)

    The city may refuse to initiate water service if the applicant has not paid any charges required under this chapter, until the applicant pays the charges in full.
