§ 32-39. Consumer request for cancellation of water services.

It shall be the duty of each person responsible for water service charges pursuant to subsection 32-48(a) to request cancellation of water services to the premises for which said person is responsible. When such a request is received by the city clerk, the city clerk shall cause water service to be terminated at the premises requested, as of the date of receipt of such request, or at such later date as the request specifies. Until such request is received by the city clerk, the person responsible pursuant to subsection 32-48(a) shall continue to be responsible for all fees related to water service to said premises. Once water service is terminated pursuant to this section, the city clerk shall close out and settle all water accounts with the responsible person.
