§ 31-51. Limited time parking zones.

(a)

In any 24-hour period, it is unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in the name of or owned or operated by such person to be stopped, stood or parked on the same side of any street in the same block for a period or periods of time, the total of which is greater than the maximum period of time allowed by this section for parking on such block of such street. Parking, standing or stopping of a vehicle in any limited time parking zone shall only be allowed if such parking, standing or stopping is not in violation of any other provisions of the Code of Ordinances, City of Manhattan, Kansas and other applicable laws.

(b)

It is unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in the name of or owned or operated by such person to be stopped, stood or parked on any street in the locations specified in this subsection for longer than two hours.

Downtown District

All streets within the area described as beginning at the intersection of the north right-of-way of Humboldt Street and the east right-of-way of 2 ^nd Street; thence south along the east right-of-way of 2 ^nd Street to the south right-of-way of Houston Street; thence west along Houston Street to the east right-of-way of 4 ^th Street; thence south to the south right-of-way of Pierre Street; thence west to the west right-of-way of 5 ^th Street; thence north to the south right-of-way of Poyntz Avenue; thence west to the east right-of-way of 6 ^th Street; thence north to the north right-of-way of Poyntz Avenue; thence east to the west right-of-way of 5 ^th Street; thence north to the north right-of-way of Humboldt Street; thence east to the east right-of-way of 2 ^nd Street and the point of beginning.

Laramie Street

The north and south sides of Laramie Street between 11 ^th Street and 14 ^th Street.

Manhattan Avenue

The east side of North Manhattan Avenue between Laramie Street and Bluemont Avenue.

Moro Street

The north and south sides of Moro Street between 11 ^th Street and North Manhattan Avenue.

Old Anderson Avenue

The south side of Old Anderson Avenue, which is located in Aggieville and referred to as the Old Anderson Avenue cutoff, between North Manhattan Avenue and Anderson Avenue.

Poyntz Avenue

The north side of the 600 block of Poyntz Avenue.

12 ^th Street

The east and west sides of North 12 ^th Street between Laramie Street and Bluemont Avenue.

(c)

It is unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in the name of or owned or operated by such person to be stopped, stood or parked on any street in the locations specified in this subsection for longer than two hours except that this limitation shall not apply on Sundays.

5 ^th Street

The east and west sides of North 5 ^th Street between Humboldt Street and the alley between Humboldt Street and Poyntz Avenue.

(d)

It is unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in the name of or owned or operated by such person to be stopped, stood or parked on any street in the locations specified in this subsection for longer than 30 minutes.

Humboldt Street

The south side of Humboldt Street between a point 130 feet east of the east back-of-curb of the intersection of the south side of Humboldt Street and 5 ^th Street and a point 160 feet west of the west back-of-curb of the intersection of the south side of Humboldt Street and 4 ^th Street.

Leavenworth Street

The north and south sides of Leavenworth Street between 5 ^th Street and 6 ^th Street.

(e)

It is unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in the name of or owned or operated by such person to be stopped, stood or parked on any street in the locations specified in this subsection for longer than 15 minutes except that this limitation shall only apply on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Poyntz Avenue

The north side of Poyntz Avenue between a point 120 feet east of the east back-of-curb of the intersection of the north side of Poyntz Avenue and 8 ^th Street and a point 285 feet east of said east back-of-curb of 8 ^th Street.
