§ 30-2. Barbed wire and electric fences prohibited.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to erect or maintain a wire fence with barbs or a wire fence that is mounted on insulators that is capable of being electrically charged when either are less than 30 feet from a public right-of-way within the city limits. This section shall not apply to the city zoo grounds, Riley County Police Department jail grounds, or to fences where the only barbs or only electrical charge would be more than seven feet above the ground.
