§ 8-175.1. Definitions.

  • For the purpose of this article the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them:

    Assist shall mean to perform those tasks for which specialized training, education, experience or certification is not necessary.

    Journeyman pipefitter shall mean any person who holds a journeyman pipefitter's certificate as issued by the city.

    Master pipefitter shall mean any person who holds a master pipefitter's certificate as issued by the city.

    Mechanical apprentice shall mean any person who assists a mechanical master, mechanical journeyman, refrigeration master, refrigeration journeyman, sheetmetal master, sheetmetal journeyman, pipefitter master or pipefitter journeyman in performing mechanical work.

    Mechanical contractor shall mean any person, firm, or corporation who is qualified or employs mechanical masters who are qualified to serve the public in the business of mechanical work.

    Mechanical journeyman shall mean any person who holds a mechanical journeyman's certificate as issued by the city.

    Mechanical master shall mean any person who holds a mechanical master's certificate as issued by the city.

    Mechanical work shall mean any work for which a permit is required by the International Mechanical Code, as adopted in section 8-166 of this Code.

    Refrigeration journeyman shall mean any person who holds a refrigeration journeyman's certificate as issued by the city.

    Refrigeration master shall mean any person who holds a refrigeration master's certificate as issued by the city.

    Sheetmetal journeyman shall mean any person who holds a sheetmetal journeyman's certificate as issued by the city.

    Sheetmetal master shall mean any person who holds a sheetmetal master's certificate as issued by the city.
