§ 8-174. Registration of nonresident mechanical tradesmen.

  • Any person who holds a current valid mechanical certificate issued by a board of examiners who has established license reciprocation with the City of Manhattan and who can give proof of passing a comparable examination as determined by the building official shall be exempt from the requirements of this article relating to mechanical examinations, but such persons are hereby required to register the certificate with the building official before doing any heating, cooling or miscellaneous apparatus work in the city. Registration of nonresident certificates shall be effective until December 31 of even-numbered years and may be renewed biennially thereafter upon payment of the required fee and submission of 12 clock hours of continuing education of a type satisfactory to the building official.
