§ 7-37. Management and control.

  • (a)

    The management and control of the airport shall at all times be directly under the control of the airport director, who shall be appointed by the city manager. The airport director shall manage and control the airport in accordance with the policies established by the city manager and the governing body, the ordinances of the city, and federal laws, rules, regulations and grant assurances.

    (b)

    The airport director will maintain supervision of all activities on the airport grounds. It shall be his/her duty to enforce the provisions of these rules and regulations and he or his/her representative shall at all times have authority to take such action as may be necessary in the handling, conduct and management of the public in attendance at the airport and airport tenants to enforce these regulations. The airport director shall have the right to deny the use of the field and its facilities to any person who willfully or habitually fails or refuses to comply with any of the provisions of the rules and regulations herein. The airport director may suspend or restrict any or all operations without regard to weather conditions whenever such action is deemed necessary in the interest of safety. The airport director shall have the authority to issue temporary or part time permits for commercial activities, revoke such permits from persons who do not comply with these rules and regulations, and ensure that all fees and charges due to the city are collected.
