§ 32-166. Measurements, tests and analyses.

Latest version.
  • All measurements, tests and analyses of the characteristics of waste and wastewater to which reference is made in this article shall be determined in accordance with CFR 40, Part 136 and also Standard Methods and shall be determined at the monitoring facility or sampling manhole provided, or upon suitable samples taken at the monitoring facility or sampling manhole. If no special monitoring facility has been required, the sampling manhole shall be considered to be the nearest downstream manhole or the point in which the city chooses to enter the sanitary sewer collection system. Sampling shall be conducted by city staff and carried out by customarily accepted methods to reflect the effect of constituents upon the POTW and to determine the existence of hazards to life, limb and property. The particular analyses involved will dictate whether a composite or grab sample(s) is appropriate as established in the standard methods. Sample testing by the city or by an authorized testing laboratory for the purpose of determining sewer service charges or validating industrial testing procedures shall be paid for by the subject user.
