§ 31-31. Loading zones.

  • (a)

    Loading zones are hereby designated and established in the locations along the streets and highways of the city specified in this section. Parking, standing and stopping for the loading or unloading of property or passengers shall only be allowed in the following zones for the following maximum periods of time:

    Houston Street

    30 Minute Loading Zone: The south side of Houston Street between a point 44 feet east of the east back-of-curb of the intersection of the south side of Houston Street and 5 th Street and a point 90 feet east of said east back-of-curb of 5 th Street.

    30 Minute Loading Zone: The south side of Houston Street between a point 164 feet west of the west back-of-curb of the intersection of the south side of Houston Street and 3 rd Street and a point 208 feet west of said west back-of-curb of 3 rd Street.

    Pine Drive

    15 Minute Loading Zone: The east side of Pine Drive between a point 35 feet south of the south back-of-curb of the intersection of the east side of Pine Drive and Poyntz Avenue and a point 100 feet south of said south back-of-curb of Poyntz Avenue.

    Pioneer Lane

    30 Minute Loading Zone: The north side of Pioneer Lane between a point 61 feet west of the west back-of-curb of the intersection of the north side of Pioneer Lane and McCain Lane and a point 101 feet west of said west back-of-curb of McCain Lane.

    Vattier Street

    30 Minute Loading Zone: The south side of Vattier Street between Juliette Street and 8 th Street.

    5 th Street

    15 Minute Loading Zone: The west side of 5 th Street between a point 56 feet north of the centerline of Pierre Street at the intersection of the west side of 5 th Street and Pierre Street and a point 156 feet north of said centerline of Pierre Street.

    30 Minute Loading Zone: The east side of 5 th Street between a point 80 feet south of the south back-of-curb of the intersection of the east side of 5 th Street and Poyntz Avenue and a point 136 feet south of said south back-of-curb of Poyntz Avenue.

    6 th Street

    30 Minute Loading Zone: The east side of 6 th Street between a point 108 feet north of the north back-of-curb of the intersection of the east side of 6 th Street and Poyntz Avenue and a point 156 feet north of said north back-of-curb of Poyntz Avenue.

    12 th Street

    15 Minute Loading Zone: The west side of 12 th Street between a point 50 feet south of the centerline of Laramie Street at the intersection of the west side of 12 th Street and Laramie Street and a point 90 feet south of said centerline of Laramie Street.

    30 Minute Loading Zone: The east side of 12 th Street between a point 14 feet north of the north back-of-curb of the intersection of the east side of 12 th Street and the alley between Bluemont Avenue and Moro Street and a point 62 feet north of said north back-of-curb of the alley between Bluemont Avenue and Moro Street.

    (b)

    It is unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in the name of or owned or operated by such person to be stopped, stood or parked within a loading zone except for the purpose of loading or unloading the vehicle and then only for such length of time as is reasonably necessary to load or unload the vehicle which shall not under any circumstances exceed the maximum period of time listed for such loading zone in this section. The city traffic engineer shall mark loading zones with appropriate signs and other indicators.

    (c)

    Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in any sum not exceeding $50.00.
