§ 30-90. Bluemont Avenue crossing.

  • (a)

    It shall be the duty of the Union Pacific Railroad Company to provide at the crossing of its tracks over Bluemont Avenue prior to entering the crossing from either direction, a trainman or other suitable person for the purpose of safeguarding the public against the danger of such activity across the crossing. It is understood that once the unit is on the crossing that the trainman or other person providing the safeguarding may be relieved from that duty to perform other necessary switching functions. It shall also be the duty of the Union Pacific Railroad Company to reduce the speed of all trains passing over and across Bluemont Avenue to ten miles per hour.

    (b)

    The crossing of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in the 200 block of Bluemont Avenue is hereby designated as "exempt," according to section 8B-6 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
