§ 2-71. Created.

(a)

There are hereby created in and for the City of Manhattan, Kansas, the following administrative departments:

(1)

Department of community development;

(2)

Department of finance;

(3)

Department of human resources;

(4)

Department of law;

(5)

Department of administration;

(6)

Airport department;

(7)

Department of fire services;

(8)

Department of parks and recreation;

(9)

Department of public works.

(b)

Wherever the codes, or ordinances of the City of Manhattan, Kansas, refer to the "director of services" or, the "director of services department", such phrase shall be deemed to mean the department of public works if the context deals with streets, engineering services, or various utilities of the city.
