§ 17.5-5. Creation and composition.

  • There is hereby created the Manhattan Historic Resources Board which shall consist of seven members, residents of the city, all of whom shall be appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the city commission. The mayor shall make every reasonable effort to appoint persons with a demonstrated interest, knowledge, or training in fields closely related to historic preservation, such as history, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural history, archeology, planning, engineering, real estate, law, finance, building trades, urban design, and geography. At least three members shall be preservation-related professionals, such as an architect, architectural historian, archeologist, historian, landscape architect, planner, or engineer.
